Planning for major events is largely the responsibility of sub-committees of the 4-H Council. Sub-committee assignments for 2003 are indicated in the following list.

Committee Responsibilities:
1. Committee meets in October or as needed.
2. This committee will evaluate the applications for county 4-H awards. Guidelines for judging these awards will be provided to the committee members.

LIVESTOCK JUDGING CONTEST
To provide an educational livestock judging contest for 4-H members.
Livestock Judging Contest, will be Thursday, May 29,2003, at the fairgrounds.

Committee Responsibilities:
1. Meet in February/March and May.
2. Review file of previous years.
3. Arrange for livestock classes.
4. Line up livestock judges and talk to fair board about judges compensation.
5. Line up help to listen to reasons.
6. Line up holders, set up judging area, group leaders, registration, tabulators, etc.
7. Determine equipment needed: P.A., calculators, ribbons, etc.
8. Contact a club about serving lunch. The proceeds go to the club serving the lunch.
9. Make sure judging cards, pencils, tabulation sheets, etc. are ready.
10. Evaluate judging contest.

FAIR CLEANUP COMMITTEE
To cleanup and/or improve fairgrounds before the county fair and after the county fair.

1.Arrange for watermelon to be served to club members after cleanup on both days. 2.Bring supplies to serve the watermelon.

4.Hold 1 melon back for clubs cleaning up in the later evening hours.

To provide 8 to 11 year olds an opportunity to have a camping experience.

To operate a funnel cake stand during the county fair as a fund raiser.

To recognize 4-H leaders for their voluntary service to the 4-H program. Banquet will be on South end in January 2004.

7. Arrange for decorations & set up of room (if needed).
8. Evaluate banquet after completion.

5. Contact referees, time keepers, score keepers, ticket takers, announcer.
6. Have programs ready.
7. Determine pairings.
8. Decide who will have the lunch stand.
9. Order trophies.
10. Determine necessary equipment.
11. Evaluate tournament.
